The David Cox Medal for Statistics

The Bernoulli Society, together with the ASA, IBS, IMS, ISI and RSS, awards the David Cox Medal for Statistics to recognize mid‑career researchers whose original work demonstrates conceptual depth and novelty in statistical theory, methodology, or substantive applications. Three medals are awarded every three years (inaugural awards 2025; next cycle 2028), with candidates assessed on a specified body of work of up to five papers. Eligible nominees are mid‑career individuals generally aged 50 or under (exceptions allowed for mitigating circumstances such as career breaks), and need not be members of any partner society. Recipients are chosen by a Prize Committee composed of one representative per partner society, with a Search Committee (two representatives per society) helping to ensure broad and diverse nominations without precluding other submissions.
