The Milton and Sonia Greenberg Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Award

American University’s Center for Faculty Excellence offers the Milton and Sonia Greenberg Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Award to recognize and fund faculty-led classroom research on teaching practices or curricular design, providing a $3,000 award to one faculty member or to be distributed among a faculty team. The award supports scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) projects that use research-based analyses to evaluate the effects of instructors’ own teaching. Eligible applicants include any faculty (adjuncts, term, tenure‑track) teaching full- or part-time during the current academic year, and teams or individuals may apply. Applications open early spring 2026 (no deadline specified) and require online submission of a 1–2 page summary covering background and research question, methods and IRB status, data analysis and conclusions, implications for teaching, and prior dissemination.
