The Robert and Vineta Colby Scholarly Book Prize

About this program

The Research Society for Victorian Periodicals (RSVP) offers the Robert and Vineta Colby Scholarly Book Prize for original book-length scholarship that advances understanding of the nineteenth-century British press. The annual winner receives $3,000 and travel expenses to deliver a keynote at RSVP’s next annual conference. Books published during the preceding calendar year are eligible, including monographs, edited collections, reference works, bibliographies, scholarly editions, and relevant biographies or critical studies. Publishers or members of the public may nominate books from November 15 through January 31; authors may not self-nominate.
