The William Procter Prize for Scientific Achievement

Sigma Xi offers the annual William Procter Prize for Scientific Achievement to a scientist who has made an outstanding research contribution and effectively communicates its significance across disciplines. The award includes a bronze statue, certificate, a $5,000 honorarium for the recipient, and a $5,000 research grant designated for a younger colleague. Nominees may be distinguished scientists in the physical, biological, mathematical, engineering, or social and behavioral sciences whose work has had significant impact and who demonstrate contributions to education, outreach, mentoring, and interdisciplinary communication. Nominations are due January 31 and must include a curriculum vitae, nomination letter, and one or two brief letters of support submitted through Sigma Xi’s Award Nomination Form.
