Thomas Hill Jr. Education and Opportunity Fund — Young Professional Grants

About this program

Society of American Foresters' Thomas Hill Jr. Education and Opportunity Fund provides Young Professional Grants of up to $1,000 to SAF young professional (YP) members to support projects that benefit local, regional, or national YP communities, including continuing education, community-strengthening, and leadership initiatives. Eligible applicants are SAF YP members under age 40 who are the designated project manager representing an SAF local unit or an external entity; proposed projects must not be completed already and should be finished within one year of approval. Allowable expenses include facility costs, food, audio-visual needs, transportation, marketing, signage, supplies, support for innovative ideas, and attendance for multiple YP members (not individual attendance); projects may receive funding for up to two consecutive years with resubmission. Applications and supplemental documents must be submitted via the SAF application portal by May 15 (year unspecified), award decisions are communicated by July 15, and approved projects must submit a post-completion evaluation.
