About this program
ASME’s Applied Mechanics Division, via the Committee on Honors, confers the Timoshenko Medal in recognition of distinguished contributions to applied mechanics; the award includes a $2,500 cash prize, a bronze medal, a certificate, and a $750 travel allowance. Eligible candidates are individuals who have made sustained, notable contributions to the field; there are no restrictions on nationality or affiliation.
