Northwestern University Clinical & Translational Sciences Institute (NUCATS) offers Translational Science Pilot Awards of up to $50,000 for highly innovative, multidisciplinary pilot projects that advance translational science. Awards are intended to generate preliminary data for subsequent independent external funding and do not support trainee career development. Eligibility is limited to Northwestern University faculty engaged in research who are eligible to serve as PI or MPI on follow-on external grants; appointments at NUCATS clinical affiliate institutions are optional.
