About this program
The UC Cancer Research Coordinating Committee (CRCC) offers competitive one‑year seed grants, funded by donations and bequests, to initiate or pivot cancer research across disciplines and the ten UC campuses; two RFPs for the 2026–27 competition, including a new fellowship, are currently posted. Awards support projects addressing any aspect of cancer—from basic biomedical science to behavioral and community-focused research—and are intended to catalyze early‑stage ideas and career acceleration. Eligible applicants are UC faculty on one of the ten campuses, specifically New Assistant Professors (NAP) and established faculty (REG); applicants must follow CRCC submission requirements and deadlines (see the How to Apply page for full eligibility details, FAQs, and webinars).
