About this program

The American Chemical Society (ACS) offers an annual award to recognize and celebrate local sections that have implemented innovative programs promoting sustainability. This award, the ChemLuminary Award, aims to highlight the section's ability to engage and educate the community, especially students and teachers, on the positive impact of chemistry in creating a sustainable future. Local ACS sections are invited to self-nominate by submitting their sustainability initiatives through the annual report, with the program's alignment to the ACS Strategic Plan being a key criterion.
