Utah CTSI Community & Academic Partnership Pilot (CAPP) Program – FY27

About this program

The National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences’ CTSA program and the Utah Clinical & Translational Science Institute are offering CAPP pilot grants to support community–academic collaborations that move discoveries into practice, develop translational-science innovations, advance human health, or address health disparities; funded projects should produce publications/presentations and preliminary data to support future external funding. Applications must be co-led by a Community PI (a researcher or non‑researcher from a qualifying community organization based in Utah or the surrounding states—ID, MT, NV, WY; some quasi‑governmental entities may be eligible) and an Academic PI (faculty or equivalent appointment at University of Utah, University of Nevada Reno, VA Salt Lake City Health Care System, or Intermountain Healthcare). A required Letter of Intent is due August 3, 2026 (5:00 p.m. MST) with invited full applications due October 19, 2026 (5:00 p.m. MST); projects already funded, those seeking only gap funding, or applicants with substantial start‑up funds or cash reserves are ineligible.
