V. M. Goldschmidt Award (annual career award in geochemistry)

Offered by the Geochemical Society and presented annually at the Goldschmidt Conference, the V. M. Goldschmidt Award is the society’s highest honor recognizing major career‑long achievements in geochemistry—including influential publication records, methodological or infrastructural advances, capacity building, community leadership, policy engagement, teaching, curation, outreach, or exceptional editorial contributions—and carries a gold‑plated bronze medal, a US$1,500 honorarium, a travel stipend, and Geochemistry Fellow status. Eligibility is open to individuals across all fields of geochemistry with demonstrable career contributions; nominations of candidates from historically underrepresented groups are explicitly encouraged, and a nominee may not receive both the Goldschmidt and Urey Awards for the same body of work. Nominations must follow the Geochemical Society’s nomination requirements and are submitted via the society’s “Make a Nomination” page.
