Ven Te Chow Award — Lifetime Achievement in Hydrologic Engineering (ASCE)

About this program

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Environmental and Water Resources Institute (EWRI) administers the Ven Te Chow Award to recognize lifetime achievement in hydrologic engineering for individuals with exceptional careers and significant contributions in research, education, or practice; the award includes a crystal trophy and an honorarium (amount set annually). Nominations are submitted via ASCE’s nomination form and must include a cover letter signed by the nominator, the nominee’s CV/biographical information, and two to three letters of recommendation. Nominees are recommended by the Ven Te Chow Award Committee and require approval through EWRI governance and the ASCE Board of Direction; those not selected remain under consideration for two additional cycles before a new nomination is required. The recipient is invited to present a lecture at the EWRI annual specialty conference, which is published in the Hydrologic Engineering Journal.
