About this program
The Council for the Advancement of Science Writing (CASW), with support from Michelson Philanthropies, awards the annual Victor Cohn Prize for Excellence in Medical Science Reporting to honor outstanding contributions to public understanding of medical science and its effects on health. The honoree receives $5,000 and a certificate. Nominees must be writers whose body of work was published or broadcast within the previous five years and demonstrates exceptional clarity, accuracy, breadth, enterprise, originality, insight, and narrative power. Nominations are due annually by June 30.
