About this program

ALIA Victoria’s Victorian Library and Information Award (VLIA), presented annually by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) Victoria since 2025, recognises outstanding contributions to Victoria’s library and information sector—including leadership, innovation, research, advocacy, community engagement and sustainability—and includes a perpetual trophy, a voucher for one year’s personal ALIA membership or equivalent conference discount, and formal ALIA recognition. Nominations must be submitted via the official form using the STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result) method, explicitly address one or more selection criteria, describe activities undertaken, and include a nominator’s statement of support; ALIAVic may opt not to present an award if no suitable nominees are identified. Eligibility is limited to financial ALIA members based in Victoria (personal or institutional); current ALIAVic Committee members and judging panel members are ineligible, and final decisions are made by a judging panel appointed by ALIA Victoria.
