Wallace Hayward Baker Award

The American Society of Civil Engineers’ Geo-Institute offers the Wallace Hayward Baker Award to recognize ingenious innovation in ground modification, including development of new technology or creative application of existing technology demonstrating unprecedented field performance. The award, typically presented to one individual, includes a plaque and certificate and may recognize either a major advancement or a career of inventive contributions. Nominees need not be Geo-Institute members and must be supported by a signed cover letter, official nomination form, CV or biographical information, and up to three recommendation letters. Nominations are due August 15, and the recipient or nominator must prepare a manuscript for publication in Geo-Strata within 12 months of the award.
