Walter L. Huber Civil Engineering Research Prizes

About this program

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) awards the annual Walter L. Huber Civil Engineering Research Prizes to recognize notable research achievements in civil engineering, with up to five prizes each year consisting of a certificate and an honorarium. Nominees must be ASCE members in good standing as of October 1 and either be under 40 years of age or within 12 years of receiving their doctoral degree (whichever is less restrictive); previous Huber Prize recipients are ineligible and selections are based on research impact (e.g., citations, h-index, funding) and recommendation letters. Nominations may be submitted by anyone to the ASCE Honors & Awards office by October 1 and must include a signed cover letter, the nominee’s CV, and two to three recommendation letters (no more than one from the same institution), with documentation limited to 10 pages plus the nomination form; ASCE Organizational Entities may endorse up to three candidates for committee review.
