Waste Reduction + Innovation Grant

About this program

BizRecycling Minnesota is offering the Waste Reduction + Innovation Grant, providing one-time awards up to $50,000 (with a required 10% cash match) to fund planning, equipment, supplies and capital improvements that demonstrably reduce solid waste or pollution across categories such as equipment & materials, construction & infrastructure, research & development, and education & engagement. Fundable examples include replacing hazardous etching systems, reclaiming powder coat, switching to water-based products, electrification of equipment, increased organics recovery and reusable or compostable packaging. Eligible applicants are for‑profit businesses, nonprofit organizations, private colleges or universities, places of worship and qualifying schools with a permanent physical location in Ramsey County or Washington County, MN; applicants must be in good standing with the Minnesota Secretary of State and Department of Revenue, and public entities, public colleges/universities, Ramsey County public K–12 schools, home‑based businesses and residential apartment buildings are ineligible. Applicants must complete a site assessment with a BizRecycling Recycling Expert prior to application (applications without a site assessment will not be reviewed) and submit the grant application form, price quotes, W‑9 and any applicable container order form; applications are accepted on a rolling basis until funds are exhausted.
