Water Industry Hall of Fame Award (AWWA)

About this program

The American Water Works Association (AWWA) administers the Water Industry Hall of Fame Award to recognize individuals whose significant, enduring contributions have shaped the public water supply; recipients receive a sculptural award, personalized nameplate, and an engraved bronze plaque at AWWA headquarters. Candidates must be substantially retired, over age 60, and have a minimum of 15 years of AWWA membership with contributions that continue to influence practice, inventions, or literature in the field. Nominations may be submitted at any time by any AWWA member, committee, division, section, or council, but to ensure full consideration for the following year should be received by November 1 and must include an entry form, a 250–500 word statement of the nominee’s enduring achievements, biographical details, a bibliography of contributions, a color photo, and dates of birth/retirement/death if applicable. Up to two honorees are selected annually by the Hall of Fame Committee (the five most recent Past Presidents) and forwarded to the AWWA Board of Directors for approval; questions may be sent to awards@awwa.org.
