Waterbird Society Research Award

About this program

The Waterbird Society offers one or more Research Awards totaling up to $5,000 to support basic waterbird research, population monitoring, and projects making significant contributions to waterbird conservation worldwide. Eligible applicants include students, professionals, and amateurs globally, with proposals evaluated on study design, analytical rigor, publication potential, and conservation impact. Applicants may not submit the same proposal to the Society’s Kushlan or Nisbet awards, and proposals are due February 1. Awardees must acknowledge the Society’s support and submit annual progress reports until the project is completed.
