Watson Davis Award for Service

About this program

The Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) offers the Watson Davis Award for Service, a commemorative honor recognizing an individual member’s sustained leadership and substantial contributions to ASIS&T governance, chapters, SIGs, committees, and publications; the award is presented at the ASIS&T Annual Meeting and carries no specified monetary prize. Nominations are submitted via ASIS&T’s online portal by 11:59 pm US Pacific Time on the stated deadline (Submission Deadline: April 1; Jury Appointment: March 15; Selection Deadline: May 15). Eligible nominees must be current ASIS&T members in good standing with at least ten years of ASIS&T membership; prior award winners and current members of the Awards & Honors Committee or Board of Directors are ineligible, and nominations may be made by individuals or official ASIS&T units (chapters, SIGs). Required materials include nominee and nominator contact information, a 200–500 word nomination statement, the nominee’s CV, a detailed letter of nomination with a comprehensive list of contributions, and up to three supporting letters (up to three pages each); a five-member ASIS&T jury will evaluate submissions using an established scoring and discussion process.
