Weiser Center for Europe and Eurasia Article Prize

About this program

The Weiser Center for Europe and Eurasia (University of Michigan) awards an annual Article Prize for an outstanding English‑language, peer‑reviewed social science research article on Eastern Europe or Eurasia; the prize carries a $1,000 cash award and is presented at the ASEEES Annual Convention. Eligible articles must be original research published in English in the calendar year preceding the competition; translated works, review essays, reports, research notes, and other non‑peer‑reviewed pieces are ineligible. The lead author must be a junior scholar who received their doctorate no more than ten years before the article’s publication year (graduate students are eligible); single‑ or multi‑author articles are permitted but an author may submit only one article. The primary author submits a PDF (file name including their last name) via the ASEEES online form by May 1; inquiries should be directed to ASEEES.
