Wildlife Corridor and Fish Passage

About this program

The California Wildlife Conservation Board offers statewide funding for planning and implementation projects that improve wildlife mobility and fish passage by constructing, modifying, repairing, or removing transportation and water infrastructure barriers. Priority is given to wildlife overcrossings and undercrossings, habitat restoration, fish passage improvements, and projects addressing migration barriers worsened by drought, with approximately $5 million available and grant terms of two to four years. Eligible applicants include nonprofits, public agencies, and Tribal governments; matching funds are not required, though secured cost share may strengthen applications. Proposals are accepted on an ongoing basis and must advance Proposition 68 objectives.
