About this program
The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS) offers the William D. Nix Award to recognize significant and lasting contributions to understanding the mechanisms and mechanical behavior of macro-, micro-, and nanoscale materials. The recipient receives a $5,000 prize, certificate, and medal at the TMS Annual Meeting and Exhibition, and must present a lecture at the meeting.
Members and nonmembers may be nominated, provided they have an established record of relevant research, publications, or patents with substantial field impact. Nominations are due April 1 annually and must include the nomination form, a two-page supporting statement, a résumé or CV of no more than five pages, and two to five brief testimonials.
