About this program
Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute, in partnership with the UAMS Rural Research Network, is offering the Rural Research Award Program to fund projects (up to $100,000) to collect preliminary data for competitive NCI/NIH R01 submissions, with a planned release in August 2026. Projects should address cancer-related healthcare problems in rural Arkansas, including but not limited to implementation science and policy, prevention and screening, health disparities, treatment and outcomes, survivorship, risk factors, and health communication. Eligible applicants are faculty at UAMS, Arkansas Children’s/ACRI, or CAVHS at the rank of Assistant Professor or above.
