Y-ESSO Research Grants

About this program

The European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO) offers Y-ESSO Research Grants to support young surgeons developing research projects in surgical oncology; the grant funds only part of the project and supports a training visit to a host institution abroad. Applicants must be ESSO members, be specialists, trainees, or junior doctors intending to specialize in surgical oncology, and be aged 40 or younger. Candidates must not have previously received a Y-ESSO Research or ESSO Educational Grant and must begin the training period within one year of notification, with non-European applicants required to select a European center. Applications, including an English-language CV, motivation letter, and departmental support letter, are due by 31 October 2026.
