Y.C. Fung Early Career Award

ASME’s Y.C. Fung Early Career Award, administered by the Bioengineering Division and conferred by the Committee on Honors, recognizes young investigators who have demonstrated significant potential to advance bioengineering through research, design, instrumentation, or peer‑reviewed publications; the award includes a $1,000 cash prize, a bronze medal, a certificate, and a $750 travel allowance. Eligible nominees must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent in engineering, physics, medicine, or the life sciences and must have received their terminal degree less than ten years before June 1 of the award year, with demonstrated contributions to ASME bioengineering. Nominations are due September 1; administrative responsibility is with the Bioengineering Division and inquiries may be sent to persaudl@asme.org.
