Zelda & Paul Gitlin Literary Prize — annual award for best scholarly article on Thomas Wolfe

The Estate of Thomas Wolfe (originally sponsored by Paul Gitlin) awards the annual Zelda & Paul Gitlin Literary Prize, a $250 prize for the best scholarly article on Thomas Wolfe published in the preceding calendar year, with the winner announced at the Thomas Wolfe Society’s annual meeting banquet. Eligible applicants are authors of scholarly articles on Thomas Wolfe published during the preceding calendar year; articles that have received or are receiving the Society’s Thomas Wolfe Student Essay Prize are ineligible. Selection is made by a three-member prize committee appointed to three-year terms by the Society president; committee members are ineligible to receive the prize while serving. The committee encourages nominations—particularly of work in less-visible journals—and no formal deadline is specified.
