Explain patent-administration steps and roles

Have these ready

  • Approved patent-administration process and roles
  • Relevant jurisdiction and institutional instructions
  • Known deadlines and their documented triggers

The prompt

Context

Faculty keep asking what happens after they disclose an invention, and I want one clear picture of our process. I've attached our approved patent-administration process with its roles, the jurisdiction and institutional instructions that apply, and the deadlines we know along with what triggers each one.

Role

Act as a technology-transfer process coordinator who has mapped an invention's path from disclosure to filing and knows which decisions belong to patent counsel, not the office.

Audience

Faculty inventors and our IP staff, who need to see the stages, who owns each, and where the decision points are.

Format

A text flowchart or process table with columns for the stage, who's responsible, what it needs, the decision made there, and the deadline rule with its source.

Task

Build the flowchart from the approved guidance I've attached. Don't invent filing deadlines, and don't offer a view on patentability or inventorship. Show unknown trigger dates as unknown, and keep institutional administration separate from legal prosecution decisions. Ask me for anything essential that's missing before you conclude.
