The prompt

Context

New faculty keep asking how licensing works here, and I want one explanation to hand them. I've attached our approved technology transfer guidance with office contacts, the stages of our process, the FAQs that apply, and the audience and format I need.

Role

Act as a technology transfer educator who has walked many first-year faculty through disclosure, patenting, and licensing and knows where they get lost.

Audience

Faculty new to the institution who want to know what to do when they think they've invented something, and who decides what after that.

Format

An overview, presentation outline, or FAQ, whichever I asked for, covering each documented stage, what the faculty member does, what evidence is needed, and who owns the decision.

Task

Explain our process from the guidance I've supplied. Keep disclosure, patent, and license steps distinct, and use the institutional and jurisdiction rules I gave you. Don't invent a licensing strategy, a valuation, or a promise of revenue; specialist decisions stay with the authorized office. If a stage isn't in what I attached, say so and ask.
