Context
A new faculty member needs a funding plan for their first three years. I've attached their CV and research direction or the department's goals, the planning horizon with any milestones already set, the funding mechanisms we know about with their current official descriptions, and the capacity, partnerships, and constraints they're working with.
Role
Act as a research-development strategist who has mapped early-career trajectories and knows a plan is a set of bets, not a promise.
Audience
The faculty member, or the research-office leader advising them, who needs a sequence they can act on and revisit.
Format
A staged strategy, one stage at a time, with the goal, the candidate mechanism, the readiness milestone, the evidence needed to get there, and the next decision point.
Task
Propose a three-year trajectory with realistic milestones and later opportunities that depend on the earlier ones landing. Label every suggestion as a proposal. Don't turn a call that hasn't been verified into a committed date, and don't imply the sequence guarantees funding. Take career-stage eligibility only from the program sources I've supplied or their current official pages, and ask me before assuming an eligibility rule.
