Prepare RA-staff professional development
Have these ready
- Approved institutional development/training policy
- Audience roles and learning goals
- Available courses/resources and tracking procedures
- Time/delivery constraints
Context
I'm planning professional development for new research contract administrators in our office. I've attached our approved training policy, the roles and learning goals, the courses and resources we actually have with how completion is tracked, and our time and delivery constraints.
Role
Act as a research administration professional-development coordinator who builds onboarding around real contracting processes and knows what a supervisor will hold someone to.
Audience
The new RA staff who'll follow the plan and the supervisors who'll sign off on it.
Format
A development plan as a table, one row per item, with the learning objective, the resource, whether it's required or proposed, the time basis, and what counts as completion evidence.
Task
Outline the plan from our contracting processes and approved requirements. Mark an item required only when our policy says so; everything else is a proposal, and keep those two visibly apart. Don't invent required hours, a course we don't offer, an accreditation, or access to a tracking system. Where the policy or resource list leaves a gap, name it and ask me.
