AΩA Poetry Award

About this program

Alpha Omega Alpha (AΩA) offers the AΩA Poetry Award to encourage medical students to write original poetry addressing health or medicine. Up to five winners will each receive $1,500, with winning poems published in *The Pharos*; submissions are due November 3, 2026. Applicants must be enrolled at a medical school with an active AΩA chapter or association, though AΩA membership is not required. Each student may submit one unpublished, single-author poem written during medical school that meets the specified formatting and content requirements.
