AΩA Stories Award

About this program

Alpha Omega Alpha (AΩA) offers the AΩA Stories Award to recognize medical student narratives exploring service, compassion, professionalism, and the human dimensions of medicine. Up to 30 selected authors will receive $500, and some narratives may be considered for publication; submissions are due January 12, 2027.

Applicants must be medical students at schools with an active AΩA chapter, have completed at least three months of clinical clerkship experience, and submit no more than one original, single-author narrative. Entries must be 500–1,500 words, written as reflective or personal prose, protect patient confidentiality, and disclose any limited use of generative AI for editorial assistance.
