AAA-AACSB-RRBM Award for Research Impacting Societal Challenges

About this program

The American Accounting Association (AAA), with support from AACSB and RRBM, offers the AAA-AACSB-RRBM Award for Research Impacting Societal Challenges to recognize refereed accounting research that produces credible, useful knowledge addressing significant societal problems and exemplifies the Seven Principles of Responsible Research. The single selected paper receives a $5,000 award (shared if multiple recipients), a certificate, recognition on AAA and RRBM websites, and an invitation to present in a 90-minute concurrent session at the AAA Annual Meeting. For the 2026 cycle, eligible articles must have been published in a refereed accounting journal issue in 2023–2025; any person or group may nominate (self-nominations encouraged) and each nomination must include the DOI, an electronic copy of the article, and a one-page (single-spaced, up to 500 words) nomination letter detailing how the work meets the criteria and evidence of societal impact and dissemination. Nominations should be emailed to awards@aaahq.org with "AAA-AACSB-RRBM Award for Research Impacting Societal Challenges" in the subject line; the posting lists a January 31 (11:59 pm ET) deadline though no year is specified, and incomplete submissions may be finalized within two days of the deadline.
