AAR Collaborative Research Grants

About this program

The American Academy of Religion (AAR) offers Collaborative Research Grants to foster cooperative and interdisciplinary research projects, particularly those involving scholars outside the field of religion. Grants range from $500 to $5,000 and support networking, communication, and small research conferences, excluding indirect costs, salaries, and publication expenses. Eligibility requires the Project Director to be an AAR member with a completed doctorate, while collaborators need not be AAR members or hold a doctorate. Applicants must include a publication plan for research results and cannot have received an AAR research grant in the past five years.
