AATS Meeting Travel Awards

About this program

The AATS Foundation offers travel stipends to offset costs for attending the AATS Annual Meeting, funding surgeons and trainees worldwide and providing additional support for those at under-resourced centers or caring for heart valve disease patients in underserved communities. Eligible applicants include North American residents, fellows, and medical students, and international residents, fellows, early-career and mid-career surgeons (any subspecialty). Applicants must submit a CV detailing surgical experience and a one-page narrative explaining how meeting attendance will advance their training and patient care; applications are due by 11:59 pm Eastern on December 1, 2026. Awards are reviewed by the AATS Travel Award Committee with emphasis on impact for underserved populations, and foreign recipients traveling to the U.S. may be subject to up to 30% federal tax withholding.
