About this program
The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) offers the 2026–2027 ABMS Scholars Program, a year-long, part-time research and leadership program for early-career physicians and researchers. Scholars receive grants of up to $15,000 for research and travel expenses, supporting original projects or expanded scopes of existing projects that advance ABMS priorities. Applicants are evaluated on the quality of their proposed research and its alignment with the research priorities of the ABMS Research and Education Foundation and relevant ABMS Member Boards. The program begins in September 2026 and concludes at the ABMS Conference 2027.
