ACG Established Investigator Bridge Funding Award

About this program

The American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) offers Established Investigator Bridge Funding to provide short-term support for maintaining an independent gastroenterology or hepatology research program between federal grants. Applicants must submit the required pre-qualification form by November 6, 2026 for fastest review; the full grant application is due December 7, 2026 and requires an ACG approval letter.

Applicants must be ACG members in good standing, be U.S.- or Canadian-based MD/DO physicians, have 30% protected project time and at least a 60% academic faculty appointment, and be 8–15 years beyond fellowship or terminal training. They must also have recently completed a qualifying federal clinical or translational award as PI (or eligible co-/sub-PI), demonstrate an ongoing federal funding renewal application, and submit a two-page project description; those with an active R01 or equivalent should apply under the Clinical Research Award category.
