ACP Career Development Award 2026

About this program

The Association of Clinical Pathologists (ACP) offers the ACP Career Development Award 2026 to fund periods of service training, personal development, or study for management qualifications that benefit clinical pathology service delivery in the UK or overseas. Up to £10,000 is available (applicants may request the full amount) to cover tuition, travel and maintenance for the planned study period; awards may not be used for locum costs and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants must be ACP members (generally with at least three years’ membership), including consultant and specialist trainee members, and the proposed activity must form part of a personal development plan endorsed by the Clinical Director or Programme Director/Educational Supervisor with written confirmation from the host department; applicants must also demonstrate the employer is not funding the activity. Retrospective applications are not accepted, remittance is conditional on submission of a publishable report to ACP News within six months of completion, and applications are submitted via the ACP Career Development Award form returned by email to info@pathologists.org.uk.
