About this program
The American Chemical Society's Division of Chemical Health and Safety offers a unique award, honoring a graduate student or recent graduate for their leadership in chemical health and safety. The award, named after a different historical figure each year, comes with a $2,000 honorarium and travel support, plus an optional $500 for safety projects. Master's and Ph.D. candidates, or graduates within three years of their degree, are eligible, provided their research involves significant chemical use and they demonstrate a commitment to safety.
