Administrator of the Year

About this program

The Journalism Education Association (JEA) offers its Administrator of the Year award to recognize administrators who demonstrate exceptional support for journalism education, particularly student press rights. The winner receives a plaque, airfare and up to two nights’ lodging for the Fall JEA/NSPA National High School Journalism Convention, speaking opportunities, and a $1,000 award for the school’s journalism program. Nominees must be submitted by a current JEA member and supported by a recommendation letter, 65–100-word biography, up to three additional support letters, photographs, and relevant articles or links. Applications are due July 15, 2026.
