Admission Innovation Project

About this program

AccessLex Institute’s Admission Innovation Project funds law schools to implement and assess novel approaches to selecting first-year students, particularly strategies that deemphasize standardized tests and examine their effects on admissions and student outcomes. Support is developed collaboratively with AccessLex researchers and may include empirical studies or simulations lasting up to 24 months. Applicants must submit a letter of inquiry describing an innovative admissions approach that focuses at least partly on identifying and admitting deserving applicants with lower standardized-test performance. Law schools should provide project, data-access, staff-qualification, and IRB information; submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis until available support slots are filled.
