Advocacy Award (PCNA)

About this program

Preventive Cardiovascular Nurses Association (PCNA) offers the Advocacy Award to recognize a member’s leadership in advocacy at the local, state, or federal level to advance cardiovascular disease prevention or the nursing profession. The winner is honored at the PCNA Annual Cardiovascular Nursing Symposium and receives a plaque, complimentary symposium registration, reimbursement for air or auto travel, and a three-night hotel stay. Eligible candidates must be current PCNA members and may self-nominate or be nominated by others; awardees must attend the symposium in person to accept. Applicants must submit the PCNA award nomination form, two letters of support, and a current CV (submissions open July 1 and must be received by the PCNA National Office on or before December 6); selection is based on documented advocacy activities and the recipient will be asked to write a 500-word advocacy article for PCNA communications.
