A.E. Bennett Clinical/Translational Research Award

About this program

The Society of Biological Psychiatry’s A.E. Bennett Clinical/Translational Research Award provides a $5,000 prize to support early-career investigators advancing clinical and translational research in psychiatry. Eligible applicants must meet one of two early-career criteria: be under age 45 as of January 1 of the award year, or have conducted research for no more than 10 years since completion of the terminal degree or formal clinical/fellowship training; nominees need not be Society members. Nominations must be submitted by the candidate’s Department Chair via the conference submissions portal (chairs may nominate multiple candidates) and must include a Chair’s letter (max 2 pages), two additional letters of support (one from a Society member; each max 2 pages), a biosketch (max 5 pages), and a separate list of three key publications; recipients are chosen by the A.E. Bennett Award Committee based on significance, originality, and independence of the nominee’s research.
