Affordable Housing Loans for Low-Income Rural Communities

About this program

Housing Assistance Council (HAC) provides short-term, below-market-rate loans to support development of affordable housing in low-income rural communities nationwide, usable for predevelopment, acquisition, construction, permanent or mini-permanent financing, and lines of credit. Loan amounts and terms vary by project needs and borrower collateral; applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and a fact sheet and online loan inquiry form are available on HAC’s website. Eligible borrowers include community-based nonprofits, housing development corporations, self-help housing sponsors, farmworker organizations, for-profit developers, cooperatives, tribes, land trusts, public agencies, and units of local government.
