AGA Research Foundation, with funding from Takeda Pharmaceuticals, offers the AGA–Takeda Research Scholar Award in Inflammatory Bowel Disease providing $300,000 over three years ($100,000/year) to support early‑career faculty and protect a minimum of 50% effort for basic, translational, or clinical IBD research. Applications open August 5, 2026, with a deadline of December 2, 2026, and funding commencing July 2027. Applicants must hold an MD, PhD, or equivalent and be full‑time faculty at a North American institution by July 2027, meeting “early‑career” criteria (≤7 years post‑clinical training for MDs or ≤7 years post‑PhD, with documented leaves/exemptions considered); AGA membership is required. A mentor and institutional sponsor with a letter committing protected time and resources are required, applicants may not hold major NIH K/R awards or equivalent, and award spending and reporting must follow AGA guidelines.
