Ahmanson Research Fellowships for the Study of Medieval and Renaissance Books and Manuscripts

CMRS Center for Early Global Studies at UCLA offers Ahmanson Research Fellowships to support graduate-level and postdoctoral independent research using UCLA Library Special Collections in medieval and Renaissance manuscripts and early printed books (including the Ahmanson‑Murphy Aldine and Early Italian Printing Collections, Elmer Belt Library of Vinciana, and related holdings). Fellows receive $3,000 per month for up to three months; housing and office space are not provided, and applications are accepted on a rolling basis with applicants asked to apply at least six months before preferred research dates. Eligible applicants are graduate students or postdoctoral scholars who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents with the legal right to work in the U.S.; non‑UCLA applicants must obtain appropriate visiting status and may be responsible for associated fees. Required application materials are a cover letter with preferred dates, curriculum vitae, a two‑page (single‑spaced) research description specifying collections to be used, and two letters of recommendation.
