AKC Canine Health Foundation Spring 2027 Research Grant Cycle

About this program

The AKC Canine Health Foundation (CHF) offers competitive Acorn grants of up to $30,000 and Oak grants exceeding $30,000, including up to 15% indirect costs, for high-impact research that prevents, treats, or cures canine disease. Proposals may address any of CHF’s canine health research areas and should demonstrate strong potential to improve canine health outcomes. Applicants must submit a compliant pre-proposal by October 20, 2026, with invited applicants submitting full proposals by February 23, 2027; projects must follow CHF eligibility requirements and its Humane Use of Animals Policy. Early-career applicants must hold a DVM/VMD and/or PhD, be within six years of completing training, and provide institutional and mentor support letters.
