ALA/ATS/CHEST Respiratory Health Equity Research Award

About this program

The American Lung Association, the American Thoracic Society (ATS), and CHEST are offering the ALA/ATS/CHEST Respiratory Health Equity Research Award to support early-career investigators conducting clinical research to improve prevention and treatment of lung diseases that disproportionately affect underrepresented populations in the U.S. and globally. One award of up to $100,000 per year for two years (Jan 1, 2027–Dec 31, 2028) will be funded to cover salaries and supplies; indirect costs are not supported. Applicants must be early‑career investigators authorized to work in the United States for the grant period; non‑U.S. citizens or non‑permanent residents must hold a valid U.S. work visa covering the award duration.
