ALISE Methodology Paper Competition

About this program

Association for Library and Information Science Education (ALISE) sponsors the Methodology Paper Competition to recognize papers that describe and discuss research methods or techniques relevant to library and information science; one winning paper receives a $500 honorarium and the author(s) are expected to present a summary at the ALISE Annual Conference. Submissions are blind-reviewed and must focus on methodology (not findings); manuscripts may be up to 25 double-spaced pages/6,000 words (excluding references, abstract, keywords, and supplemental materials), use one-inch margins and 12-point font, and include two title pages (one anonymous). Eligible submissions include unpublished works, works published within the past two years, manuscripts submitted for publication, and graduate theses or course work; authors who won this award within the past five years or members of the award committee are ineligible. For jointly authored papers, at least one author must be a personal ALISE member at the submission deadline, and the committee may choose to select no winner.
